Casper

Casper is one of the very few students I don’t mind spending time with outside of class (for context, when I go to restaurants I always request a table far away from kids). Gentle, mostly kind and very impatient, Casper is more ambitious and determined than he seems. I think he is very intelligent, both socially and intellectually. A natural creative problem solver who lacks attention to detail, Casper keeps his eyes on the vision and isn’t bogged down by the small issues which sometimes doesn’t matter, but sometimes can become a very costly mistake. Overall “the better done than perfect mentality” is definitely a net positive. That being said, he does give up easily, in the sense that without attempting or struggling for too long, he relies on others for help (not sure if this has to do with a lack of confidence in his own abilities or a product of privilege or both). I believe having a little bit more grit will take him very far. Lastly, his self-deprecating jokes are often very funny, unexpected, relatable and concerning dark thus, revealing some of his insecurities. If you say something long enough, you might just start believing it. A good dose of self-love (or words of encouragement to oneself) to balance that out might be a good idea. To sum it up, from electric skateboard to gaming pc, I’ve really enjoyed working with Casper these past four months and I am excited to watch him grow and take on even more exciting projects! p.s. He has a good eye for composition in photography! Don’t know how to say this without being vapid, but thank you Ann and Ben for supporting his creative journey.
